According to the Laws on Public Roads of the Republic of Croatia the usage of Motorways is tolled.
Payment System on AZM
On entering the motorway an entry ticket automatically issued on a slot outside on the toll booth when you approach the toll barrier. Just pull the ticket (keep it for the exit) and the barrier opens. All entry lanes are automatic with no collector in the booth.

When leaving the motorway you can pay on Automatic Payment Lanes. The latter is meant to increase your speed by reducing waiting times, as on automatic lanes the time consuming cash payments are not perfomed. If you pay by bank or credit cards or with AZM SMART Card you are fastest in automatic lanes. No cash payment on Automatic Payment Lanes.

1. Just enter the white entry ticket in the left slot on the panel on the toll booth and
2. insert your card in the middle slot. After 2 to 5 seconds the barrier opens. Take your card and go on with your journey.
3. You can choose receiving a receipt by pushing the receipt button on the right side of the panel.
If you use an AZM SMART Card hold for step 2 your card in front of the reader below the middle slot.
Accepted cards:
If you prefer to pay with cash money (we accept Kuna and EURO) you can use the manned Manual Payment Lanes.
